Stanować

The verb stanować means ‘to follow information about a favorite band, their new songs, and also to listen to the band’s music regularly’. A very popular word among fans of Korean popular music, or K-pop. The origins of the word can be found in Eminem’s 2000 song Stan. The name of the title character, an obsessive admirer of the artist and his work, gave rise to the slang term stan, referring to obsessive fans of a celebrity. This noun began to be used as a verb.
